An Upper Limb X-ray is a diagnostic imaging test used to visualize the bones and joints in the shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand. It helps detect fractures, dislocations, arthritis, infections, bone deformities, or injuries due to trauma. The procedure is quick and painless, typically taking 10–15 minutes. Depending on the area of concern, you may be asked to sit or stand in different positions during the scan. It’s often recommended when patients experience pain, swelling, stiffness, or have suffered an injury to the upper limb. The radiation used is minimal, but patients who are pregnant or suspect pregnancy should inform our team beforehand.
