Stool C/S

Stool Culture and Sensitivity (Stool C/S) is a diagnostic test used to detect bacterial infections in the digestive system. It identifies harmful bacteria in stool samples and determines their sensitivity to antibiotics. This test helps diagnose gastrointestinal infections caused by pathogens like Salmonella, Shigella, and Escherichia coli, which can lead to diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever.

Stool C/S is recommended for individuals experiencing persistent diarrhea, vomiting, blood in the stool, severe abdominal cramps, or fever. It is particularly useful for detecting foodborne illnesses, bacterial dysentery, and infections due to contaminated water or food. This test helps guide appropriate antibiotic treatment, reducing the risk of complications and transmission.
