Anti PR3 (C-ANCA)

Anti-PR3 (C-ANCA) is a blood test used to detect Proteinase 3 (PR3) antibodies, which are associated with autoimmune diseases, particularly Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA), a type of vasculitis. This condition causes inflammation of blood vessels, leading to organ damage, especially in the lungs, kidneys, and sinuses.

The Anti-PR3 (C-ANCA) test is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring GPA and other vasculitic disorders. Patients experiencing symptoms like persistent sinus infections, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, kidney dysfunction, and unexplained weight loss may require this test.
